Myke likes an intelligent and subtle order in the projects he creates. Myke wants it to load fast and respond to the user in an intuitive way, he wants the aesthetic to be a simple, attractive reflection of the communication. Whatever the project, he wants it to grow, change, and evolve naturally. Myke has experience creating engaging social networks, observing user patterns, designing both small and large scale websites, and optimizing monetization, SEO, and SEM.

Myke believes that effective communication lies in the melding of ideals. He takes his influences from original movements and styles and then adds his individual interpretation. Myke believes that a designer’s reference and starting point is every bit as important as their ability.

William Kral

William holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Ryerson University and has a passion for technology tempered by a desire for simplicity and practicality. His experience working on large and small software projects has given him experience with a wide variety of technologies and development techniques and has left him with a focus on reliable delivery to his clients.

William is currently focused on smaller/leaner software projects but has lead large development teams for customer management and ordering applications at TELUS and worked closely with the design teams to come up with technical solutions. He was previously a software developer and technical consultant for IBM developing for their software products and leading a production support team for one of their clients.

MovieSet.com announces that it has been nominated as a finalist in the prestigious Canada New Media Awards presented by nextMEDIA in the Best Online Video Portal category. The awards are to be presented at the Design Exchange Gala on Dec. 1, 2009 in Toronto, Canada.

The competition was open to content portals, social media groups, websites, newsletters, blogs or any digital media property that can demonstrate a loyal and growing fan base that provides a tantalizing vehicle for advertisers. The Canadian New Media Awards recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and companies in the Canadian digital media industry, in 19 prestigious award categories.

Kate McArdle is a seasoned producer and has been an executive for feature film companies and television networks in Los Angeles, California. Kate was a production executive at USA Cable Network where she was in charge of long form/ back door pilot development and production. Previous to working at USA Cable Network Kate was in charge of long form development and production at Spelling Television.

She has been a senior film executive for DEG Productions with Hawk Koch, Michael Douglas Productions and Thomas Carter Films. Additionally, she has produced 6 television movies and two internationally acclaimed documentaries.

Shannon Nystedt

Shannon Nystedt grew up on movie sets, quite literally. She has always enjoyed both the filming process and the finished product, which makes her all that much more excited to be part of the MovieSet team! Shannon recently graduated from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts. She also has a Fine Arts diploma from Langara College. A self professed comic book geek and video game nerd, Shannon also worked at Electronic Arts (EA) as an Assistant Tester Coordinator both testing games and leading teams of testers.

David Rockwell

David Rockwell holds degrees in both Economics and Commerce. He spent many years in public practice with Thorne Riddell, Chartered Accountants (now KPMG). Mr. Rockwell has served in finance roles for the past twenty years for a varied range of organizations.

His specialized experience with start-up companies, franchising and workout situations has proven invaluable to MovieSet. In addition, Mr.Rockwell has expanded his direct experience within the Film Industry by working as a Production Accountant and a Post-Production Accountant for various MOWs and International Co-Productions between Canada, UK and Spain.

Blaine Jeffery

With more than 10 years of experience in writing, photography and videography, his work has appeared in national dailies and magazines, including The Globe and Mail and National Post, and major broadcasters like CTV, CNN and CBS. Quinn’s arrival at MovieSet reconnects him with CEO Colleen Nystedt, with whom he served as Director of Creative Affairs in her previous enterprise, New City Films. Quinn now joins the MovieSet team as Content Director, a reporter-at-large.

Graham Fortin
